LOCAL BUSINESS EDUCATIONAL EVENT - October 28, 2020

Join us for an 8:00 am online zoom session to learn how to create relevant and consistent content to effectively attract online customers for the upcoming holiday season. The consultant, Jamie Bjerke, will share tips for growing and using email marketing along with identifying which social media platform is best for reaching your target audience. Additional small group consulting sessions will include brainstorming, exploring resources, and demonstrations including these topics: Content Marketing, Email Marketing, Facebook Marketing, Target Audiences, and Marketing Strategies. 9:30 am – 4:30 pm Small Group 1-hour Consultation Q&A held at the Lanesboro Area Chamber of Commerce office.

This educational event is brought to you through a Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation grant. The Lanesboro EDA is collaborating with Winona State University to bring you the one-hour online group learning session, as well multiple 2 person, in-person, small group learning sessions. You can sign up for up to two of the in-person learning sessions. Room capacity is a total of 3 persons, masks required.

Participants will: Develop ideas and a timeline for effective content marketing. Identify which social media platforms are the best for your business/industry to engage your target audience. Write a social media schedule and use Facebook ad center to create an audience and publishing schedule. Identify ways to grow an email list and use email marketing as a strategy to reach and engage with your target market.

 Consultant: Jamie Bjerke is passionate about helping busy business owners develop and implement marketing strategies that help businesses achieve their goals. Jamie Bjerke is the owner of JLB Marketing and Consulting. Jamie became an entrepreneur about 5 years ago after working in the corporate world for 15 years in sales and marketing. Jamie’s experience is both B2B and B2C marketing. Jamie lives in St. Charles with her husband and two young kids. Jamie is very active in her community and serves as a marketing coach for the Small Business Development Center, SCORE, and Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation.

This virtual business training is for individuals that used SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan funds and are seeking the proper procedure to apply for forgiveness of a portion of the loan.

Business Financials - August 18, 9 - 11 a.m.

This virtual business training will be focused on business financials. These are challenging times and things look a bit different. We will hear a lender’s perspective on ratios, gap financing, cash flow, debt and personal financial statements.
