Lanesboro Public Utilities have contracted to have the sewer pipes cleaned and vacuumed on Monday August 22nd. The area that will be done this year includes the properties on the “hill” up by the churches and the old school ( Hillcrest St E and Elmwood St E). The work will stop at Dupont St and

Attention – There will be a large nighttime water shutdown for most of the northern part of Lanesboro to connect the watermain from the project to the city system. Lanesboro Public Utilities will be working in the right of way on Highway 16 at the intersection of Rochelle Ave beginning early tomorrow morning. While the plan is to make the repair without any further interruption in water service, please be aware of the work to be completed and the possibility of short water interruptions

We were alerted to a water main break on Sheridan and Rochelle. The leak has been isolated. Our team will continue to monitor the situation. Repairs will be completed next week in partnership with the State of MN.

The filing period for mayor and city council is now open! Affidavits of Candidacy will be accepted until August 16th at 5pm. The City of Lanesboro has 2 council seats and the mayor up for election at this time. Please stop by the City Office to file. There is a $2.00 filing fee.

Lanesboro Public Utilities will be clearing the right of way of the undeveloped alley for the installation of new electrical lines. The area will include homes located on Elmwood St E and Hillcrest St E in the block between Ashburn and Calhoun. This work will begin as soon as we can secure a contractor.

2022 Street and Utility Improvements  –  July 22, 2022 Project Update: The contractor is scheduled to begin grinding pavement into gravel and removing curb and gutter in the Downtown Coffee/Rochelle/Beacon (CRB) project area AND the Pleasant/Sheridan Alley on August 1st, 2022. The contractor understands Buffalo Bill Days are the first weekend in August and will not be working
