The US Environmental Protection Agency and the Minnesota Department of Health is requiring the City
of Lanesboro, in partnership with the City’s engineering firm, Bolton & Menk, to complete an inventory of all water service lines connected to the public water supply system. The goal of the inventory is to
identify the material type of each water service line.
The City of Lanesboro along with Bolton & Menk performed an initial water service line inventory during
the Summer of 2024. If you received a mailing notice, the City currently has no record of your
water service line material type.
If you haven’t yet completed an inventory of your service line material, please complete the short
survey by scanning the QR code.

Bolton & Menk will be active in town and knocking on doors the week of September 15th thru
September 19th. Our staff will visit your property sometime on those dates between 9:00 AM and 6:00
PM. If you are not home, we will leave a door hanger with information about scheduling a follow-up visit
from the Bolton & Menk staff.
Please note that the City of Lanesboro will continue to contact you to obtain your water service line
material type. This City is required to report information on all water service lines to the Minnesota
Department of Health. To verify if your property has been identified you can visit our map at : https://maps.umn.edu/LSL/
Thank you – your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
