Watermain Leak Investigation and Repair

On Wednesday, September 30, the City of Lanesboro received reports of low water pressure from property owners near the 100 block of Elmwood Street East.
Following an investigation by Lanesboro Public Utilities staff, a watermain leak is suspected in the alley behind the Lanesboro American Legion or in the surrounding area. Utility crews have been actively working to locate the source of the leak and complete necessary repairs. Excavation activities continued into the evening hours on September 30, and repair efforts will resume on the morning of October 1.

Residents in the 100 block of Elmwood Street East should be aware that water service interruptions may occur as crews continue their investigation and repair work. The City will make every effort to minimize impacts on customers and restore normal service as quickly as possible.

Traffic control measures may be in place along Kenilworth Avenue South while crews conduct repair activities. Motorists, pedestrians, and nearby property owners are asked to use caution and respect all barricades, signage, and work zone boundaries for their safety and the safety of utility personnel.

The City appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as crews work to address this issue. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available and as repair efforts progress.
